What is the maximum payment for parental leave in NZ?
up to a maximum of $788.66 gross a week (gross means before tax or any deductions). Inland Revenue work out your parental leave payments based on information they get from your employer. They will calculate your ordinary weekly pay (OWP) and average weekly income (AWI) to work out the weekly payment.
How long does it take for PPL to be approved?
Inland Revenue will send you confirmation your application has been accepted within 14 days. This will include the dates and amounts of your payments. You can work limited Keeping in Touch (KIT) hours during your PPL period without losing your entitlement to payments.
