Each exhibit should be clearly labeled on the back. The plaintiffs exhibits use numbers (Plaintiffs Exhibit 1, Plaintiffs Exhibit 2, and so on). The defendants exhibits use letters (Defendants Exhibit A, Defendants Exhibit B, and so on.
What should an exhibit list look like?
The plaintiffs exhibits are traditionally numbered (Exhibit 1), while the defendants exhibits are lettered (Exhibit A). Your court may want you to label your own exhibits as you introduce them or the court may prefer that the court clerk labels the exhibits instead.
