Submit an Application: Complete and submit an application for coverage (Form CCC-471) and pay the applicable service fee by the crop-specific application closing date. Premiums for Buy-Up Coverage: Additional premiums apply for buy-up coverage, based on the coverage level selected.
The Noninsured Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) offers financial support to producers of non-insurable crops to protect against natural disasters that result in lower yields, destroyed crops, or the inability to plant.
This program provides financial relief by allowing eligible producers to move one annual installment for each loan to the end of the loan term. This set-aside installment helps producers regain their financial footing without facing immediate repayment pressure, enabling them to focus on recovery efforts.
Crop Losses Noninsured Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) pays covered producers of covered noninsurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory, or prevented planting occur due to natural disasters (includes native grass for grazing). Eligible producers must have purchased NAP coverage for the current crop year.
NAP provides financial assistance in the form of direct payments (i.e., indemnities) to eligible producers affected by certain natural disaster events. The U.S. Department of Agricultures (USDAs) Farm Service Agency (FSA) administers the program.

Producers must file an application for coverage by the application closing date, which varies by crop and is based on seasonal planting dates. NAP basic coverage pays producers the portion of catastrophic losses that exceed 50% at a rate equal to 55% of the average market price of the commodity as determined by FSA.
Obtaining crop insurance for the first time can seem like a daunting task. Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance, or NAP, is an insurance program provided through the Farm Service Agency (FSA) that helps producers protect their bottom line in the event of natural disasters.
