The cost of Early Intervention services for a child is determined by their family income. Families whose income is less than three times the federal poverty level will receive Early Intervention Services at no cost.
In New Jersey, children are evaluated using a standardized assessment tool and are eligible for NJEIS when: 2 or more areas of development are delayed below the average of other children; OR. When one area of development shows a significant delay.
Families who participate in the NJEIS may have a cost for some of the IFSP services they receive. A familys cost participation (co-pay) is determined by household income and size and is on a sliding fee scale.
