Blandy Experimental Farm is a 712-acre University of Virginia research facility. The purpose of Blandy is to increase the understanding of the natural environment through research and education.
Blandy Experimental Farm came into being in 1924 when Graham Blandy willed 700 acres of his land, part of the historic Tuleyries estate, to the University of Virginia. His will stipulated that it should be called Blandy Experimental Farm and used to train college students in farming methods.
Physical Address: 400 Blandy Farm Lane, Boyce, VA 22620 (The main entrance is located on Route 50/17.)
Blandy Experimental Farm exists to promote this understanding through education and research on plants, plant biology, ecology, evolution, the environmental sciences, and the manner in which all of these are used and affected by humans.
There is no admission fee to enter Blandy Experimental Farm/The State Arboretum of Virginia or to see the ginkgoes.
