The CCR includes information about the water system, water sources, definitions, levels of detected contaminants, water quality compliance/violations, and some educational information.
There is a long tradition that there are four elements that mark a valid public notice. The notice must be published from an independent party, the publication must be archivable, the publication must be accessible, and the publication must be verifiable.
Public Water System (PWS) - a system that serves piped drinking water to at least 25 persons or 15 service connections for at least 60 days per year. Community Water System - public water systems that serve the same people year round.
Meet the standards for Noncommunity Water Systems. Meet specific MCLs and MRDLs related to disinfection. Monitor for inorganic contaminants, asbestos, antimony, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cyanide, fluoride, mercury, nickel, selenium, and thallium, nitrites, nitrates, and specific unregulated contaminants.
Tier 3. (Annual Notice) When water systems violate a drinking water standard that does not have a direct impact on human health (for example, failing to take a required sample on time) the water supplier has up to a year to provide a notice of this situation to its customers.
