How does a partial dity move work?

The military calculates PPM rates based on the weight of your household goods and the distance of your move. The formula is straightforward: PPM Rate = (Weight of Household Goods x Distance) x Rate per Pound per Mile.

How much will I get paid for my ppm move?

As part of a member-elected PPM, the government will give you a lump-sum payment in advance to cover moving costs. This is called a government constructive cost, or GCC, and its equivalent to 100% of what the DoD would have spent if it had arranged your move.

Is a ppm move worth it?

During a PPM, the military will pay you 100% of what it would cost them to hire movers. If you spend less than the military would spend to hire movers, you keep the difference. Besides the reimbursement, youll receive regular military PCS travel allowances. Many choose to do a PPM because of the financial benefits.
