PSC filers can submit these changes within 300 days from the date of entry and up to 15 days of the scheduled liquidation date, whichever date is earlier. If PSCs are filed outside the specified timeframes, ACE will automatically reject it.
In general, an importer has 10 working days from the date of cargo release to file an entry summary. A rejected entry summary must be resubmitted within 2 working days of the date of reject (10 working days if the error involves ADD/CVD). This 2 or 10 day grace period allows for the timely resubmission.
Post Summary Corrections: Used to correct inaccuracies made in ACE electronic filings. Can only be used with non-liquidated entries. Protests: An importer can file a protest to contest a CBP determination after an entry has been liquidated.
Entry is generally a two step process. First, the importer or Customs Broker files basic documentation (or data) to secure release of the goods. This is called the Entry (CF 3461). The second step, an Entry Summary (CF 7501) is filed to provide any additional paper work (or data) required by CBP and to pay duty.
