Fees to Apply The one-time fee for a Body Art Card is $138 ($118 exam fee, $20 card fee). If you miss your exam appointment with no notice, a $239 charge may be applied. Fees can be paid via cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, money order, cashiers checks, and business checks at all old and new locations.
No law prevents you from tattooing your own body. Professionals who tattoo other people must be trained and licensed and adhere to the laws, but they could tattoo themselves without restrictions.
General Requirements to get a Tattoo License in any American state: CPR Certification (Only required in some states) First Aid Certification (Only required in some states) OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Certification for Tattoo Artists (Required by all states) Practical or Written Exam (State specific)
