The Texas Pesticide Law requires that you must be licensed or certified by TDA in order to lawfully use a restricted-use pesticide, state-limited-use pesticide or regulated herbicides.
The Georgia Pesticide Use and Application Act of 1976 requires that any person engaged in the business of applying pesticides to the lands of another within the State of Georgia must first be issued a pesticide contractors license by the Commissioner of Agriculture.
The North Carolina Pesticide Law of 1971 further requires licensing of any individual who is compensated to apply any pesticide (whether restricted-use or general-use) to someone elses property; any public operator; and any golf course operator.
RUPs have the potential to cause unreasonable adverse effects to the environment and injury to applicators or bystanders without added restrictions. The Restricted Use classification restricts a product, or its uses, to use by a certified applicator or someone under the certified applicators direct supervision.
Take application forms and Certificate of Completion to your local county Extension agent. The Georgia Department of Agricultures Pesticide Division will review your application, and when approved, send it to the Licensing Division who will print and issue your license in 3-4 weeks.
