While different states have different requirements, heres what you typically need: Certificate of vehicle registration. Prior inspection report. There is a 30-day grace period for your annual or biennial emissions test upon expiration. Simply, this means you have a month (30 days) after your tags expire to get an inspection. However, keep in mind that more than 30 days past the expiration date could result in a $50 ticket.
If emissions testing is not performed in the state, or county where the vehicle is located, a VIN verification form (DR 2698))(opens in new window) must be completed by a local law enforcement officer (Local Police, Sheriffs Office, State Troopers, Military Police or out of state DMV Office).
If you are new to Arizona, we will need to see the current title or registration of the vehicle and your residence address. Of course, you will also need the test fee in cash, check or credit/debit card.
