If you have 20/20 vision, you have normal visual acuity. The top number refers to the distance in feet that you stand from the chart. The bottom number is the distance at which a person with normal sight can read the same line you correctly read.
Decimal: The visual acuity can be expressed in decimal or percentage for example 0.8 (80%), 1.0 (100%), or 1.2 (120%). In this system, 1.0 or 100% means the average vision, 2.0 or 200 % is the highest possible value and indicates very sharp, way above-average vision.
Record your visual acuity for each eye by noting the line for which you correctly identified either: a) More than half the letters on that line, but not all of them. b) All letters on that line, plus a few letters (less than half) on the next line.
Your vision results (acuity) will be expressed as a fraction. Fractions are shown to the left of each row and identify how well you can see. The expression of results, such as 20/40 vision or 20/25 vision, will depend on how far down you were able to read the lines on a specific chart.
Normal: Eyeballs are symmetrical in size and position. The eyeballs are in the same plane as eyebrow and maxilla. The upper lid covers upper portion of cornea , when the patient is looking straight. Eye lashes span outwards. The edge of the lids are in apposition to eyeballs. Small lachrymal gland is recognizable.

Usually, youll read rows of letters off a wall chart or a video monitor. Each row of letters is smaller than the one before it. To take the test, you usually stand 20 feet from the chart and cover one eye. You read the letters one row at a time until you get to a row with letters that are too small for you to see.
