What is the amount of the attorney occupational tax? The attorney occupational tax is $565 per calendar year. If you were admitted as an attorney and engaged in the practice of law in Connecticut but not for the entire calendar year, the tax due is $565. No proration of the tax is authorized.
Attorneys who practice law in the State of CT are assessed an annual fee of $75 for the Client Security Fund.
There is a $95.00 entry (filing) fee. You must pay the Court Clerk with cash, or with a check or money order made out to Clerk of the Superior Court. If you pay in person, you may also pay by MasterCard or Visa.
Divisions of Superior Court - CT Judicial Branch. The Superior Court hears civil, criminal, family and juvenile matters. Civil Division hears cases in which someone is being sued to protect civil, personal or property rights.
An occupational tax is levied against any person who has been admitted as an attorney by the judges of the superior court, and who is engaged in the practice of law in Connecticut.
