A P60 contains all the information necessary to identify the employee and detail their earnings and tax commitments for the year. It includes: the employees name. their National Insurance number.
Your P60 shows the tax youve paid on your salary in the tax year (6 April to 5 April). You get a separate P60 for each of your jobs every tax year. Theres a separate guide to getting P60s if youre an employer. If youre working for an employer on 5 April they must give you a P60.
Ask your employer for a replacement P60. If you cannot get a replacement from them, you can either: use your personal tax account or the HMRC app to find the information that would be on the P60. contact HMRC and ask for the information that was on the P60.
It details employees taxable income, as well as any deductions made by Pay At Year End (PAYE), Pay Related Social Insurance (PRSI), and other burdens for the tax year. It is the equivalent of the T4 form used in Canadian taxation and the W2 form used in the US.
Give a P60 to all employees on your payroll who are working for you on the last day of the tax year (5 April). The P60 summarises their total pay and deductions for the year. You must give your employees a P60 by 31 May.
