Tennessee State Health Insurance Assistance Program (TN SHIP) The Tennessee State Health Insurance Assistance Program (TN SHIP) is a federally funded program that provides free, unbiased counseling and assistance to Tennessees Medicare-eligible individuals, their families, and caregivers.
TN is not an option because there is no state income tax.
To be eligible for the OPTIONS program, an individual must: Be a resident of Tennessee. Be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Must meet Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) limitation requirements.
CHOICES Group 1 is for people of all ages who receive nursing home care. CHOICES Group 2 is for adults (age 21 and older) with a physical disability and seniors (age 65 and older) who qualify to receive nursing home care but choose to receive home care services instead.
