An individual must: Be in good standing as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) on the Indiana Aide Registry. Worked a minimum of 1,000 hours as a CNA within the past 24 months. Complete the 100-hour QMA Training Program. Pass the QMA written competency evaluation test.
The program can be completed in approximately 10 to 12 weeks, depending on the schedule. Classroom instruction meets once weekly, and clinical hours are arranged to accommodate both student and facility availability.
The QMA may not administer the initial dose of a newly ordered medication nor via the intravenous or injectable routes. Other restrictions apply.
