Who is eligible for AER assistance? Active duty Soldiers and their eligible family members. Soldiers retired from active duty because of longevity and their eligible family members. Retired Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers receiving retired pay and their eligible family members.
Assistance anywhere Active duty or retired Soldiers may request assistance from any military aid society office located within 50 miles of their current locations. If an office is not found within 50 miles, Soldiers can receive AER assistance through the American Red Cross at 1-877-272-7337.
Did you know that Army Emergency Relief (AER) serves retired soldiers, as well as those on active duty? There are many categories of assistance available to soldiers on active duty that are also available to retired soldiers and their eligible family members.
And if you qualify for a loan through AER, you may receive your loan funds within 48 hours of your request.
