Judges use the Difficulty Drivers to determine a teams score. The Difficulty Drivers include: Degree of Difficulty, Percent of Team Participation (Maximizing Stunt groups based on the number of athletes), Combination of Skills (level and non-level appropri- ate) and Pace of skills performed.
The basic elements of cheerleading include stunts, pyramids, jumps, acrobatics, dancing and shouting. So-called pompoms are typical for cheerleading dance choreography. The maximum permissible height of the pyramid in competitions is two floors above the base. Stunts are the basic elements of pyramids.
1. Spend time on the Cheer. There is no reason why you shouldnt score high on the cheer section, no matter what your difficulty level is, especially if you are competing on a UCA-style scoresheet. A well executed, crowd-leading cheer incorporating signs, poms, and megaphones will score you well.
Teams will be evaluated on their ability to lead the crowd, proper game day skill incorporations, execution of skills, motion technique and overall routine. The order for the College Game Day Championship will be Fight Song, Situations Sideline (offense / defense) and a Game Day Timeout (in this order).
Scoring Systems: Judges use score sheets with specific criteria for each category. Each aspect is scored on a scale, typically from 1 to 10, with different weightings. For instance, stunts and pyramids may carry more weight than jumps or dance. A perfect routine balances difficulty with flawless execution.
