What is ACIRT? Since 1994, weve helped workers access their redundancy funds when jobs endwith security, simplicity and trust. Your employer contributes monthly to your ACIRT accountand if youre made redundant, you can claim those funds to help you through the transition.
Redundancy payments made to ACIRT members after 12 months from their termination date are not ETPs and are taxed as directed by the Australian Taxation Office. They are assessed as ordinary assessable income taxed at ordinary marginal rates.
ACIRT is a trust. The operations of ACIRT are governed by a trust deed. The trustee of ACIRT is a company called ACIRT Pty Limited which has a Board of Directors made up of equal trade union and employer organisation representation.
