The Sickness Benefit Program is a daily cash allowance paid to qualified workers based on the days they cannot work due to sickness or injury, especially those infected by COVID-19. These members can avail of up to 120 days in sickness benefits in one (1) calendar year.
A member is qualified to avail of this benefit if he/she: Is unable to work due to sickness or injury and is confined either in a hospital or at home for at least four (4) days. Has paid at least three (3) months of contributions within the 12-month period immediately preceding the semester of sickness or injury.
The minimum monthly disability pension is P1,000 for members with less than 10 credited years of service (CYS); P1,200 if with at least 10 CYS and P2, 400 if with at least 20 CYS.
For EC cases, sickness/injury must be recorded in the company logbook within five (5) calendar days from notice or knowledge of occurrence of the contingency.
