The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is increasing the minimum annual payment for agricultural producers participating in the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) from $1,500 to $4,000 starting in fiscal year 2024.
The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is a voluntary conservation program that encourages producers to address resource concerns in a comprehensive manner by undertaking additional conservation activities; and improving, maintaining, and managing existing conservation activities.
USDA is increasing the minimum annual payment for new and renewed contracts for agricultural producers participating in the Conservation Stewardship Program from $1,500 to $4,000 starting in fiscal year 2024.
These programs work to address a large number of farming and ranching related conservation issues including: Drinking water protection. Reducing soil erosion. Wildlife habitat preservation. Preservation and restoration of forests and wetlands.
