Note: A single Commons account can be affiliated with multiple organizations. It does not matter which organization initially establishes the account.
When editing an account, you can no longer change the User ID or name. You can, however, edit the email, roles, affiliation, or reset the password. See Editing an Existing eRA User Account below.
An eRA Commons ID must be entered in the Credential, e.g. agency login field for all Senior/Key Personnel, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement (NIH GPS 1.2), and Other Significant Contributors (OSCs) listed on the RR Senior/Key Person Profile Form.
Steps to Log into eRA Commons (once the association is complete) Go to the eRA Commons home screen . Click on the Login.gov logo. Enter your Login.gov credentials. Once logged in, the Commons landing screen will be displayed.

Institutions and organizations register with eRA Commons, and at the time of registration, they assign a signing official (SO) and an account administrator (AA). These people can create additional accounts after the registration process is complete.
Select Manage Access from the Actions panel on the left side of the page. The User Access Summary page displays. Select the Add User button at the bottom of the page. On the displayed Add New User page, enter the eRA Commons ID into the Username field of the User Information portion of the page.
