Every active State Bar of Texas member must complete a minimum of 15 hours of accredited CLE during each MCLE compliance year. 3 of these hours, including 1 hour of legal ethics, could be in self study.
Your MCLE compliance year is a one-year period that begins on the first day of the month you were born. It ends one year later on the last day of the month that precedes your birth month.
Yes. Attorneys who are inactive, retired, or judicial are exempt from the CLE requirements. Some exemptions may also apply for military service or extreme hardship. You must request the exemption through the State Bar of Texas and may be required to provide documentation.
California CLE At least 4 hours of Ethics. At least 2 hours of Competence (1 hour in prevention and detection and 1 hour in Attorney Wellness); At least 2 hours of Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession (1 of these must specifically be in Implicit Bias) At least 1 hour of Technology.
What are the MCLE requirements? Active members of the State Bar must complete a minimum of 15.00 hours (3.00 hours of which must be in ethics) of continuing legal education (CLE) every compliance year. At least 12.00 of the total 15.00 hours must be accredited CLE. The remainder can be fulfilled through self-study.
