You can include the foster children in your household and the foster payments you receive (as unearned income) or you can decide not to include the foster children and eliminate the foster care payments from your income.
The first requirement is that foster-care income must be verified. This process typically involves obtaining letters of verification from the organizations providing the income. Secondly, borrowers must have a two-year history of providing foster-care services.
