The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) is the governing body for cue sports in the United States and Canada, and the regional member organization of the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA).
The BCA Pool League (BCAPL) now boasts more than 500 sanctioned leagues in more than eight (8) countries with a total membership over 50,000 players.
You begin the break with ball in hand behind the head string. There is no requirement to call a ball on the break. The cue ball must contact the 1-ball before any other ball or cushion, or it is a foul. You must either pocket a ball or cause at least four object balls to contact one or more cushions, or it is a foul.
League Format Unlike many other organizations, the League Operator is free to choose nearly any format they desire. Any type of league can join (i.e. 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, one pocket, straight pool, american rotation, etc.).
In scoring, each player receives one point for each of his/her group of balls (solids or stripes) legally pocketed, plus three points for legally pocketing the 8-ball. Thus, a win is always worth ten points to a player, while a loss can never be worth more than seven points to the opponent.

Players now have averages assigned to them based on their previous results, and they are written into the Avg: column by each players name. To determine the handicap one team receives from the other, total the averages of each competing member on a team and subtract the difference from the opposing team total.
