Your local 4‑H office will help you find the right program for your child and provide you with meeting locations, time commitment and program details.
4‑H programs are available for youth and teens ages 8-18. 4‑H Cloverbud programs are available for youth ages 5-7.
4-H participation can involve age-appropriate experiences designed for youth aged 5 to 8 and youth aged 9 to 19: 4-H Cloverbud Members (ages 5 to 8) Many county 4-H programs offer programs for children aged 5 to 8 (officially called 4-H Cloverbuds by Michigan 4-H Youth Develop- ment).
With the support of adult mentors, youth select from a menu of hands-on project ideas to complete. 4‑H programs are available for children ages 8-18. 4‑H Cloverbud programs are available for children ages 5-7.
Who can join 4-H? Any youth, 5 years old and in kindergarten through 19 years of age, may participate in the 4-H Program. The 4-H year begins in October with enrollment open to new 4-H families through April each year.
