Membership Intake is the process of joining one of the Divine 9 fraternities or sororities, and the process differs for each group. Intake may include interviews, group activities, and study of group values/traditionsaccompanied by the involvement of both undergraduates and advisors.
NPHC Divine 9 or D9 sororities and fraternities initiate new members through a membership intake process. This engagement starts either with an informal, Informational Meeting and/or formal Rush/Interest Meeting. An Informational meeting is generally a meeting to learn more information about said organization.
Membership Intake Process Attend the organizations informational or interest meeting. Apply to the organization. Meet organization requirements and receive an acceptance letter.
Typically, a student must obtain a collegiate GPA of a 2.7 or higher. Candidates for membership must obtain at least 12 credit hours at the University of Mississippi. Each NPHC organization has its own requirements set by their (inter)national organization and the University of Mississippi respective chapter.
The process is comprised of an informational meeting/Rush, a formal application process, and fraternity/sorority education sessions. All MIP activities should take 6-10 weeks and will end before Pre-Finals Week.
