Membership Intake: The process by which interested persons become members of NPHC or cultural-based Greek organizations. Generally characterized by an Informational Meeting, an application process, an interview or series of interviews, an intensive education process.
Membership Intake requires a two-thirds vote of the chapter. Intake procedures shall be prescribed by the Grand Chapter and adhered to by the Chapter. The Chapter shall elect all members of the Minerva Circle except the leader of the Minerva Circle which by default shall be the 2nd VP.
Fraternity Sorority Affairs requires all chapters which facilitate an intake process to follow the below steps: Complete the online Membership Intake/Recruitment/Rush Notification Form. Reach out to our Office Administrator, Michelle Hart at moutlaw@illinois.edu to set up a meeting with your FSA liaison.
An aspirant must possess a 2.5 cumulative GPA to be eligible for intake. The approval process for the applications vary from organization to organization, but all include alumni in the review and evaluation process. After the applications have been approved, the membership education program begins.
