Eligibility. Homeowners, including owners of mobile homes located in mobile home parks, age 65 or older, or receiving Federal Social Security disability benefits, who paid property taxes on their principal residence in New Jersey either directly or through mobile home park site fees.
The document is a form (PTR-1A) for homeowners to verify their property taxes for the years 2021 and 2022. It includes sections for applicants to provide personal information, property details, and tax-related questions regarding ownership and occupancy.
This bill allows New Jersey seniors, 65 years of age and older, whose annual household income, for federal tax purposes, is under $50,000 to also qualify for an annual deferral of property tax payments.
Who is eligible: Homeowners and tenants who occupied their principal residence in New Jersey on October 1, and who paid property taxes on that dwelling either directly or through rent, and whose gross income for the entire year does not exceed $200,000 (homeowners) or $100,000 (tenants).
You (or your spouse/civil union partner) were: 65 or older as of December 31, 2022; or. Actually receiving federal Social Security disability benefit payments (not benefit payments received on behalf of someone else) on or before December 31, 2022, and on or before December 31, 2023.
