Everyone is entitled to CPP regardless of how many years you have worked. How much you receive depends on your earnings as well as your contributions. Who is eligible for the Canada Pension Plan? To qualify for the CPP, you must be at least 60 years old and have made valid contributions.
The bridge benefit is intended to supplement your pension income until you start receiving CPP benefits. Please note that although you may begin receiving CPP benefits as early as age 60, the bridge benefit will not be deducted from your pension until you docHub age 65.
The Old Age Security (OAS) pension is a monthly payment you can get if you are 65 and older. In some cases, Service Canada will be able to automatically enroll you for the OAS pension.
Your lifetime pension is calculated at 1.3%* of your highest average salary (best 5 years) and is payable from the date you started receiving your pension until death. * If your highest average salary is greater than the average YMPE, the portion of your salary above the YMPE is calculated at 2.0%.
