In the event that you have charged incorrect items or submitted the claim against a different patient in error, you should contact Medicares eBusiness Service Centre on 1800 700 199 as soon as possible and ask that they cancel the claim on their end.
To submit a corrected claim to Medicare, make the correction, and resubmit it as a regular claim (Claim Type is Default) and Medicare will process it. Hover over the Billing tab and select Live Claims Feed. Search for the patient and select the from the drop-down.
You can only elect to cancel Part A if you pay a monthly premium. You can cancel premium Part A at any time. To get started, download Form CMS-1763 from the Medicare website or visit your local Social Security office to receive a paper copy. Make sure you fill it out completely.
As Medicare usually requires up to 60 days to process a claim, a person may be able to stop the claim from processing if they contact Medicare within this time frame to cancel.
