Form 8453 is used solely to transmit the forms listed on the front of the form. Do not send Forms W-2, W-2G, or 1099-R.
Form 8843 is not a U.S. income tax return. It is an informational statement required by the IRS for nonresidents for tax purposes. It should be submitted for every nonresident tax payer present in the U.S. at any point during the previous calendar year, including spouses, partners, and children.
Use Form 8453-CORP to: Authenticate an electronic Form 1120, U.S. Corporation Income Tax Return; Form 1120-F, U.S. Income Tax Return of a Foreign Corporation; or Form 1120-S, U.S. Income Tax Return for an S Corporation. Authorize the electronic return originator (ERO), if any, to transmit via a third-party transmitter.
