When consumers employ in-home/relative providers, DCYF pays $3.85 per hour per child. Beginning July 1, 2024, the maximum child care subsidy rate is $4.00 per hour per child. (2) DCYF may pay above the maximum hourly rate for children who have special needs pursuant to WAC 110-15-0235.
Families residing in Washington state may be eligible for Child Care Subsidy if their income is at or below 60% of the state Median Income (SMI) at application or 65% of SMI when reapplying. For a family of two, that is $3,641 per month, for a family of three $4,498, and for a family of four $5,354.
Families earning over $80,000 may get a subsidy starting from 90%. This will go down by 1% for each $5,000 of income they earn above $80,000. The CCS percentage youre entitled to depends on your familys income. The income limit for CCS is increasing to $530,000.
Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for child care. When a family qualifies for child care subsidy benefits and chooses an eligible provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of child care. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month.
