Quorum: A quorum is the minimum number of members of your board or membership that must be present for business to be conducted. For your PTA Board that number is half of your total number of board members plus one (i.e. for an 8 member board quorum is 5).
The voting body at a special meeting of the members shall be those Texas PTA members who have registered as in attendance. A quorum at a special meeting of the members shall be 150 members provided that a majority of the geographic areas of Texas PTA, as defined by the board of directors, is represented.
To maintain Good Standing with Texas PTA, all Local PTAs must update or amend their Bylaws (and Standing Rules, if applicable) with Texas PTA at least once every three years.
