void println(char[] x) – Prints an array of characters and then terminate the line. void println(double x) – Prints a double and then terminate the line.
%p is for printing a pointer address. 85 in decimal is 55 in hexadecimal. On your system pointers are 64bit, so the full hexidecimal representation is: 0000000000000055.
Printing pointers. You can print a pointer value using printf with the %p format specifier. To do so, you should convert the pointer to type void * first using a cast (see below for void * pointers), although on machines that don't have different representations for different pointer types, this may not be necessary.
void is a Java keyword. Used at method declaration and definition to specify that the method does not return any type, the method returns void . It is not a type and there is no void references/pointers as in C/C++.
void pointer in C / C++ A void pointer is a pointer that has no associated data type with it. A void pointer can hold address of any type and can be typecasted to any type.
void println(long x) – Prints a long and then terminate the line. void println(Object x) – Prints an Object and then terminate the line.
Examples of C Functions: void // This is the return type (void means no value is computed and returned by the function!) printf("Congratulations on your %d th Birthday\n", age); return; // you can "terminate" a void function by using return.
A void function can return another void function In this approach, one void function can call another void function while it is terminating.
To print the values stored in a void pointer, we can use the C-style casting. For Example : cout << *((int*)ptr); Here ptr is a void pointer that contains the address of an int variable.
