The background attachment property determines whether a background image's position is fixed in the viewport or scrolls with its container. It has global values: inherit, initial, revert, and unset, along with three specific values: scroll, fixed, and local. When set to fixed, the background remains static relative to the viewport, even as the element scrolls. In local mode, the background is fixed relative to the element’s contents, while scroll allows the background to move with the containing element. The tutorial demonstrates these behaviors through modified examples of hero and full-width images, showcasing the differences in how the backgrounds behave under each setting.
