By default, the local driver preserves 100MB of log messages per container and uses automatic compression to reduce the size on disk. The 100MB default value is based on a 20M default size for each file and a default count of 5 for the number of such files (to account for log rotation).
bind is configured to limit the log file size to 2m and to add up to 3 versions of the log files. During the testing of this bind server, is has occured that bind does not stop logging if the file size docHubes more than 2m.

The default log file size for chkdsk is 65536 KB; you can check the current log file size by executing /L without the size option. This option allows chkdsk to run faster by using more system resources.
By default, the DNS server BIND logs its messages via syslog service to /var/log/syslog . However, in some cases this is not verbose enough. This guide describes how to enable more verbose logging with BIND.
A good STARTING POINT for your log file is twice the size of the largest index in your database, or 25% of the database size. Whichever is larger. Why? If the largest object in your database is larger than 25% of your database, you are likely running some type of maintenance.
