If youre not already in Editing view, click Edit Document Edit in Word for the web. Click Insert Page Numbers. Youll see a gallery of page number layout options. Check the Include Page Count box just above the gallery.
Go to Header Footer Page Number Format Page Numbers, select the format you want, and then select OK. Go to Header Footer Page Number Page Number, choose the alignment you want, and select OK. Go to Header Footer Close Header and Footer or double-click outside the header to exit.
Include total number of pages in the page number Go to Insert Page Number. Do one of the following: Select Current Position if you have a header or footer. Scroll until you see Page X of Y and select a format. Select Close Header and Footer, or double-click anywhere outside the header or footer area.
Insert page numbers On the Insert tab, select. If you dont want a page number to appear on the first page, select Different First Page. If you want numbering to start with 1 on the second page, go to Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at to 0. When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
If you want page numbering to start at the first numbered page, add \pagenumbering{arabic} (or whatever style you want) jus after \newpage to reset the page counter. With \documentclass[svgnames,titlepage]{article} you get the titlepage witout a number.
Answer Click on the Insert tab. Click on Page Number in the Header Footer group. Choose the location of page number (usually top of page). ​ The header will open and the page number is inserted. Your name and subsequent page numbers will now appear on all pages of your document.
1 Answer Click the header. Go to the ribbon pane Insert and click Page Numbering. Select Current Position. Choose a style. to change where the page number appears, select it and use repeatedly the Tab key to switch its position between left, center, or right.
To suppress the page number on the first page, add \thispagestyle{empty} after the \maketitle command. The second page of the document will then be numbered 2. If you want this page to be numbered 1, you can add \pagenumbering{arabic} after the \clearpage command, and this will reset the page number.
