1. To change the vehicle your permit is attached to, log into the MiPermit system using your unique PIN and click on Manage Virtual Permits. Click on the permit you wish to amend 2. Once selected your permit details will be displayed on the screen select Edit Registrations to change your vehicle registration details.
Your permit only applies to your zone or priority parking area where you live. Park your vehicle fully within a permit holders or shared use parking place within your zone. Permit holders only parking places have signs with your zone or area number and the words Permit Holders Only painted on the road.
You can do this in several ways: Login to MiPermit portal, select Manage Digital Permits, and then Residents permits. Login to the MiPermit smartphone app, select Permits from the menu, then choose the permit you want to update. Call MiPermit on 0345 520 7007.
Change of vehicle For permanent changes we need documentation linking you to the new vehicle, such as insurance, vehicle registration document or garage invoice. If there will be an overlapping period when you will have two vehicles, we can issue a permit for up to five days.
Once approved, you will receive another email asking you to log into your account to make payment. Your permit will be activated following payment and you will receive an email to confirm this. Do not park until your permit is showing as active on your account.

All resident students, including TA/GAs, living in family housing must purchase a Rutgers parking permit for the academic year. The proof must show your name, address and vehicle registration number. Once this is accepted, you will be contacted for payment of 21.00 to transfer the permit.
