ENLISTED SOLDIERS You must be a SPC through SFC. You must be able to complete the 3-year initial tour prior to the date of mandatory removal from an active status based on age or service. You must meet the military education requirements for your grade (AR 135-18, Table 2-1, Rule C) unless waived.
Active Guard Reserve (AGR) positions allow Soldiers and Airmen to serve full-time and enjoy the same benefits as Active Duty Soldiers. With an Active Guard Reserve job, you receive full pay, medical care for you and your family, and the opportunity for retirement after 20 years of active service.
ACTIVE GUARD-RESERVE (AGR) They are mostly non- employable, and are subject to renewal based on the AGR contract. They are often coveted positions due to their benefits, but unlike normal TRs, are more subject to the needs of the service, much like active duty.
