What can I expect from Air Force OTS?

Every day, the officer trainees have 15 minutes to get up, get ready and be in formation for physical training. Between 5:15 and 6:15 a.m., trainees attend physical conditioning consisting of a combination of strength and endurance exercises, including pushups, sit-ups, running and plyometrics.

Is Air Force OTS hard?

The Air Force Officer Training School is small as it commissions fewer officers every year compared to the Air Force Academy and AFROTC. Therefore, it is not easy to gain acceptance for Air Force OTS but is well worth the effort. The nine-and-a-half week course is extremely demanding physically and mentally.

Do they shave your head at OTS?

During the first few weeks of OTS you will be given anywhere from 5-15 minutes to get ready in the morning. I did the whole full-shave with a razor and shaving cream gig for a while and eventually learned from my prior-enlisted peers by getting myself an electric razor.

Can you have your phone in OTS?

Inmate Telephone System: The Inmate Telephone System (OTS) allows eligible inmates to make paid telephone calls to friends and family, in accordance with the TDCJ Disciplinary Rules and Procedures for Offenders, English (PDF) or Spanish (PDF).
