Requirements The applicants name must be on the deed or title to the residence as of Jan. An owner can apply for their primary residence only. Is a North Carolina resident. At least 65 or totally or permanently disabled. Income does not exceed $37,900.

North Carolina Veterans who either are 100% disabled or receive benefits for specially adapted housing under 38 U.S.C. 2101 can receive a property tax exemption of up to the first $45,000 of the appraised value of their primary residence.
