Intermediate training is characterized by a more tailored approach to fitness. At this stage, youre no longer just focusing on learning form or building a base level of fitnessyoure pushing for more specific outcomes, whether thats hypertrophy (muscle growth), strength development, or improving overall athleticism.
Beginners: You have no meaningful trained strength. Intermediates: You can deadlift 2x bodyweight, squat 1.5x bodyweight and bench 1x bodyweight. Advanced: You can deadlift 2.5x bodyweight, squat 2x bodyweight and bench 1.5x bodyweight.
Novice: Novice learners primarily understand theoretical concepts. For example, novices are typically students or those in entry-level positions. Intermediate: Intermediate learners have some experience applying theory to practice. For example, students completing internships are typically intermediate learners.
Heres the rule of thumb: If you arent experienced or knowledgeable but you are fast, you are an Intermediate. If you arent fast, but youve been in the sport for a while and are knowledgeable about the sport, you are an Intermediate.
Trainee experience. The Ophthalmic Assistant Training Program is an eight-month program designed to give students a combination of lecture, lab, and clinical learning. The first two months focus on classroom and lab education, with the remaining six months designated for clinical rotations.
