I read once that no homeschooler should spend more than three hours a day, three days a week, three weeks each month on formal schoolwork.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Education, Oklahoma requires homeschool students to receive 180 days of instruction per school year, in the form of six hours or 360 minutes per day, as appropriate for the students age.
It shouldnt be too much of a problem in the younger levels. By the time you get to the Age 7-9 level it may end up being more of a challenge to fit all of the work into three days per week -- unless you homeschool year round.
New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island are the states with the highest level of regulation for homeschooling. These states all require you to give notice to the state that you intend to homeschool your child or student.
