What is Regulation 9 of the Housing Benefit Regulations 2006?
Regulation 9(1)(b) of the Housing Benefit Regulations 20061 specifically provides that a person who resides2 with, and pays rent to, a close relative3 should not be treated as liable for their housing costs and thus will not be entitled to Housing Benefit.
