In car rental, an authorised driver is a person who is allowed to drive the rental vehicle. To be allowed to drive the vehicle, the driver has to be registered in the rental agreement. This means that the main renter and additional driver(s) are considered as authorised drivers.
An authorized driver is anyone granted explicit permission by the policyholder to use the insured vehicle. Sometimes people refer to this as drivers with permissive use. Typically, these drivers are covered under the policyholders insurance, unless explicitly excluded or if the policy outlines specific restrictions.
You must add all extra drivers to your rental contract, in order to make sure everyone is covered by the insurance policy. If another person drives the rental but is not down as an additional driver, you will void the rental agreement and the insurance company may refuse to cover any physical damage to the vehicle.
LGBTQ+ Allyship The LGBT Allies Program is designed to build a network of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to providing advocacy, education, support, and awareness of individuals from the LGBT community and strive to promote a welcoming and inclusive campus at Trinity University.
Your additional driver will need to present a valid license at the rental counter, proving that they are 25 years or older. In addition to these requirements, the additional driver will need to have a clean driving record. You can add up to two extra drivers to a reservation.
