Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) The MNA is a screening tool to help identify elderly persons who are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition. This User Guide will assist you in completing the full MNA accurately and consistently.
MUST is a five-step screening tool to identify adults, who are malnourished, at risk of malnutrition (undernutrition), or obese. It also includes management guidelines which can be used to develop a care plan. It is for use in hospitals, community and other care settings and can be used by all care workers.
Screening score. (max. 14 points) 12-14 points: Normal nutritional status. 8-11 points: At risk of malnutrition. 0-7 points: Malnourished.
A score of 12 or greater indicates the person is well nourished and needs no further intervention. A score of 8-11 indicates the person is at risk of malnutrition. A score of 7 or less indicates the person is malnourished.
