The Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit (CPTC) provides producers of eligible Canadian film or video productions with a fully refundable tax credit, available at a rate of 25 per cent of the qualified labour expenditure.
Film Tax Relief is claimed by the film production company for each accounting period through your Corporation Tax Return (CT600). Your tax return must also be accompanied by supplementary information, including: Proof that your film qualifies as British (either by BFI or as a qualifying co-production).
Projects must film at least 75% of principal photography days wholly in California OR 75% of the production budget must be incurred and used for goods, services and/or wages within California. A Diversity Tracking and Unlawful Harassment Policy is required.
Specifically, the Child Tax Credit was revised in the following ways for 2021: The credit amount was increased for 2021. The American Rescue Plan increased the amount of the Child Tax Credit from $2,000 to $3,600 for qualifying children under age 6, and $3,000 for other qualifying children under age 18.
