EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification - 603/5982/1. This qualification is designed solely for those who have been working with the industry as a practicing electrician for a minimum of 5 years.
To qualify for an Experienced Worker ECS card you need to meet the following criteria: You must provide proof of a JIB recognised level 3 electrotechnical theory qualification (please see right hand column on this page for this list) Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.
The current edition of EAS details the minimum requirements necessary to determine you or your employees competence to carry out electrical design, construction, maintenance, verification and/or inspection and testing work in compliance with BS7671.
The Electrotechnical Site Safety Assessment (TESSA) is a one-day SQA approved course relevant to any candidate who is not a qualified electrician or other tradesperson, who is employed, or will shortly be employed, in a role which will require them to access construction sites, either sporadically or on a regular basis
This qualification comprises of knowledge and performance units, which between them cover health, safety, and environmental considerations, organising and overseeing, terminating, and connecting, inspection, testing and commissioning; fault diagnosis and rectification, electrical scientific principles, BS 7671;

The Experienced Worker Assessment is for electricians who have been working in the industry for at least 5 years (not including time spent in full or part-time training) but have not formally completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ qualification.
