What exactly is an OLLI?

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UC Berkeley celebrates the insatiable curiosity of learners ages 50+ and their ongoing quest to engage with, make sense of, and be inspired by the world around them. No Berkeley affiliation required. Just a love of learning. All are welcome!

How does OLLI handle inclement weather?

Weather cancellation policy However, the OLLI program may independently cancel classes or activities, or close locations, even when the University is officially open, depending on circumstances or weather conditions relevant for each OLLI location.

What are the OLLI membership requirements?

Anyone aged 50 or older is eligible to join OLLI and take courses. Our educational program runs year-round and is divided into three terms; Fall, Spring, and Summer. Membership is renewed on a term-by-term basis, at $75 per term for returning members $50 for new members.

What precautions should be taken during inclement weather?

Severe Thunderstorm/Tornado Safety Basics: Get In: Put as many walls between you and the outside as possible. Stay Away from doors and windows. Get Down: Get to the lowest floor possible. Basements are best during tornadic or very high wind situations. Cover Up. Remain Calm.

Is OLLI accessible to people with disabilities?

Our physical venues comply with the American for Disabilities guidelines for public access. OLLI asks all onsite presenters to wear microphones, and encourages members to let course leaders know if their speaking styles present difficulties.
