TMEA Region XV is the biggest and most competitive Region in Texas spanning 15 school districts, at least 35 schools with mariachi programs and hundreds of students.
We usually send about one to three people each year to state while having around 40 go to district, which is the most of our district. But it basically comes down to the individual, if you work really hard and consistently practice even when there is no audition to practice for, youll have a good shot to make it.
Students are selected via a rigorous audition process that starts at the district level. Students who perform at the district level are then eligible to audition for selection to the All-State instrumental ensembles. Thus, the All-State student musicians are truly the best of the best.
